If it hasn’t sold after nearly 2 weeks I’d assume the ad is turning away buyers. For that price it should be gone.

I mean the ad may be turning away buyers, but I’d guess more the non-driveable, “just” needs a new transmission installed, and hasn’t been registered in three years (which I read as “can’t pass emissions without expensive work”, but potentially also headaches at the DMV) parts may be what’re keeping people away.

You can get that exact car except working for $3k-4k. Now, finishing putting the tranny in on its own is certainly worth the grand or two saved, but not being able to test drive it means you’re risking getting it going to find a million little things to fix that the guy failed to mention. Also, as someone else said the fact it hasn’t been registered in so long means something needs done to pass emissions, it also means even if it has been driven a bit in that time it’s mostly been sitting and that pretty much guarantees a bunch of random stuff will need replaced. So at the end of the day you spend $3500 and a lot of time to get a car you could’ve just spent $3500 on.
